As some of you may know I’m going to Africa from January 11th to July 13th

I’m am going to the Bourofaye Christian School which is situated in Senegal by a village called Kiniabour which is 70km southeast of Dakar, the capital of Senegal. It is also near a large fishing town called Popenguine.
The school caters for the children of missionaries of West Africa and was set up by WEC. It is for children up to 16 years of age and they take their GCSE’s at the school. Although the school is run through WEC 60% of the children have parents who are missionaries with other organisations.
I will be working as a dorm helper giving pastoral support to a specific dorm, I am not sure what age they will be yet. This will involve helping them with daily devotions, making sure that they get to lessons on time and that they are in bed at the right time. During their free time I will be involved in organising activities, including trips to the surrounding area.
The children start boarding from a range of ages and it depends on their parents when they begin living at the school full time. The school is set in quite a rural part of Senegal and is just 10 minutes from a beach, which I am definitely looking forward to. The school has good contact with the villages around them and has seen many come to know Christ through outreach programs. The school runs Sunday clubs for children who live around the school and also many football matches are played.
As I speak some French I am hoping to play an active role in these outreach programs.
I have to fund the trip myself, this includes flights, insurance and although I will be living at the school I will need to pay rent every month which includes food. Any donations towards my trip, however big or small would be gratefully received.
